Our Premises
KCS has gained positive recognition for its unique premises
and purpose-designed kitchens, helping to attract more new
students each term.
30% of our students attend KCS with special needs, which
range from physical disabilities to severe learning, behavioural
and emotional difficulties. KCS accommodates children in wheelchairs
with widened entrances and exits, plus an entire kitchen module
which adapts to varying heights to allow 3 year olds to wash
up and children in wheelchairs to access the hob!
The office/reception area continues to be the first point
of call for all our students and parents, which also turns
into the dining area for our After School Cookery Club, tempting
staff with delicious smells!!
The kitchen includes 4 kitchen modules allowing a maximum
of 12 students in the kitchen at one time. Each kitchen represents
the 4 main colours of KCS: red, green, yellow and purple.
The red kitchen is the demonstration kitchen, whilst the green
kitchen boasts the facilities for special needs children to
work in on an individual basis, helping build their independence
and confidence.
KCS is a registered charity number 1079543, and therefore non-profit
making, all funds go towards our assisted places scheme and
equal opportunities for those children most in need. |
