Ofsted and the Criminal Record Bureau

KCS is registered under the Children's Act 1989, and therefore
falls under the category of an educational establishment requiring
an annual inspection by Ofsted. KCS underwent its second inspection
during 2003 and successfully passed. Our 2004 inspection will take place in November.  Under the new regulations introduced by the Criminal Records Bureau, KCS now goes through Ofsted to police check all staff, volunteers and trustees.

Environmental Health

KCS undergoes annual inspections by the Ealing Environmental
Health Department. A pest control service is carried out quarterly
with an outside agency. KCS prides itself on a very high standard
of kitchen hygiene.

Health & Safety

KCS has appointed staff members who are responsible for health & safety checks in the kitchen and the office.  All fire alarms and extinguishers are tested on a 6-month basis by a reputable firm, with KCS conducting a fire drill on a regular basis.

Basic Hygiene and First Aid

All members of staff at KCS are trained in Basic First Aid.
All kitchen staff have undertaken their Basic Hygiene certificate. John Fernandez, our Head Chef will be completing his intermediate food hygiene.  In addition, Christina Meehan our Cookery Teacher, has achieved her advanced food hygiene certificate and can also deliver a Basic Hygiene course on site at KCS.  Please contact the school for further information and costings.

Public Liability

KCS carries employment liability insurance.

KCS is a registered charity number 1079543, and therefore non-profit making, all funds go towards our assisted places scheme and equal opportunities for those children most in need.
