Welcome to The Kids' Cookery School
This first ever childrens
cookery school to have achieved charitable status is a
unique and innovative project aimed at promoting cookery skills,
healthy eating and food awareness amongst children from all
social backgrounds and age groups.
Based in West London, we run
events and classes where children
learn about new ingredients and equipment, and are encouraged
to touch, smell and feel different foods.
Our activities include:
- An After School Club club for local
children whose families are living on income support or
who are disadvantaged.
- Practical cookery sessions during all school holidays
Register now and find
out about our fee- paying and
assisted places.
THANK
YOU...
Since the beginning of 2007, The Kids’ Cookery School has
been Holroyd
Howe’s nominated charity of the year.
Holroyd Howe are independent contract
caterers who, throughout the year, have amazed us with their
imaginative approach to raising funds for KCS. They have held
sponsored pancake days, ready-steady-cook competitions and we
are all looking forward to the themed charity dinner they are
organising in aid of KCS in November.
We would like to take this opportunity to
thank our friends at Holroyd Howe for their ongoing support.
Their efforts are hugely appreciated by the KCS students!

Holroyd Howe and the services they offer, take a look at their

BANANA AND MANGO SMOOTHIE
Serves 2-4 (this recipe is suitable for all ages with
adult guidance)
Equipment: ▪ chopping board ▪
sharp
knife ▪ tablespoon ▪ blender ▪ measuring jug
Ingredients:
▪ 2 ripe mangos ▪ 1 banana ▪
500ml full fat milk ▪ 1 tbsp honey ▪ 100ml plain
yoghurt
Assemble
and prepare all the ingredients and equipment you will need to
make the BANANA AND MANGO SMOOTHIE. Do you recognise all the
ingredients and equipment? If not, ask an adult to explain them
to you. Make sure you wash your hands and wear a clean apron.
1.
Ask an adult to help you carefully cut two rounds of mango
either side of the stone and scoop out the flesh. Release
the rest of the flesh from around the stone using a spoon.
2.
Chop the mango flesh into pieces and put these into the blender.
Peel and slice the banana and add to the blender along with the
yoghurt, milk and honey.
3.
Blend until smooth.
4.
Chill for 1 hour and serve.
Everyone should help with the clearing up and
tidying away. This part is just as important as the cooking and
can be as much fun!!
KCS is a registered charity number 1079543, and therefore
non-profit making, all funds go towards our assisted places
scheme and equal opportunities for those children most in
need.
