Welcome to The Kids' Cookery School.

The Kids' Cookery School's mission is to give every child in the UK a unique and fun cooking experience in order to help them make informed choices about food and an understanding around health and diet.

Started in 2000, the charity has worked with over 136,000 children, young people and families across London, many of whom may have severe physical and learning disabilities, behavioural problems or been excluded from mainstream education.

URGENT NEWS 21/09/2019 - KCS HQ IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED!!! HOWEVER OUR MOBILE POP-UP KITCHEN IS STILL OPERATIONAL AND WE WILL BE RUNNING CLASSES THIS HALF TERM!

All classes/workshops for this half term, will be held, at the following address: West Acton Community Centre, Churchill Gardens, W3 0JN. NO workshops/classes will be taken at KCS HQ!

It is with great regret, that KCS has had to close its kitchen for the time being. This is due, to a serious leak in our roof and ceiling in our Kitchen facility. We know that this is a terrible blow, to many children, parents and families, but we take health and safety very seriously and we can’t take any chances when it comes to our children, being safe and happy in the kitchen. We hope that this problem and issue, will be resolved quickly, so that we can get back to normal and continue to teach as many children and young people this vital life skill again, once again. Until further notice we will not be able to operate at KCS HQ.

However, we do still have our mobile POP-UP kitchen and we are still able to operate and teach through our Mobile Kitchen. So please do get in contact with us if you any enquiries and would like to book, a session, with KCS On Wheels.

Many thanks for your understanding and sincere apologises.

Our CEO/Founder Fiona Hamilton-Fairley, has been awarded an MBE!

Fiona founded KCS in 1995, when she began to teach children in her own home when she realised that her own children would not learn how to prepare and cook good fresh food from scratch at primary school.  Fiona is a passionate, chef, cookery teacher and food campaigner.  She believes that every individual needs to be able to prepare and cook fresh food for themselves in order to eat well and live a happy and healthy lifestyle.  Fiona lives by the motto ‘you are what you eat and drink’.

On the 7 June 2019, Fiona was awarded an MBE on the Queens’ Birthday Honours List, for Services to children with Special Needs and disabilities.
